Over the weekend of 8th-9th August a Carnival was held at Palm Cove. This event involved quite
a few different clubs and was hosted by the
Cairns Surf Life Saving Club. This club has
operated for 78 years and is one of the oldest
established Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia.
The SLS movement is a true showcase of the
Australian beach culture and has been responsible
in saving almost 500,000 lives since 1907.
